'So you are calling it a ritual now...' a wisecrack acquaintance once sneered. Another open-minded observer called my drawings pornography, another one talked about my 'Celtic Kamasutra'. While all I tried to express was - indeed - a union, but not only a fysical union between man and woman. My drawings obviously have a lot more meaning than that. You have to see the Woman as a Priestess representing the Mothergoddess, the Man as the (Sun)God, the Ritual of Mating a Union made between the earthly and the spiritual spheres, a yin/yang-like communion of opposite yet complementary principles and, moreover, a song of praise to joy and fecundity. That is the reason why I give these drawings respectful titles like 'Under the Moongoddess' and 'Beltane ritual'.
